LAMAR Jackson is expected to sign the largest contract in NFL history in 2026.
However, the Ravens’ two-time NFL MVP quarterback Jackson could pen the biggest contract and still earn less annually than Dallas Cowboys’ Dak Prescott.

In 2023, Jackson signed a five-year, $260 million contract.
Since then, he has won an MVP and earned two first-team All-Pro nods.
On Monday, Ravens head coach John Harbaugh appeared at the NFL’s annual owner meetings and discussed Jackson’s contract.
Jackson’s cap hit is set to be $70 million in 2026.
Harbaugh revealed that the Ravens have had internal discussions about a potential extension for Jackson
“How far along that is or whatever, I don’t know,” Harbaugh told reporters, per NBC Sports.
“But I definitely think it’s an obvious point that you’re making, that’s going to continue to have to be addressed, really, with all those guys.
“You’ve got to just kind of manage that dance — that salary-cap dance.
“And Lamar is the main part of that because he’s the franchise player.
“So, that’s a possibility, I think.
“Sooner or later, it definitely is going to have to happen.”
Harbaugh also shared that once Jackson gets a new contract, he’ll likely be the NFL’s highest-paid player.
However, the three-time Pro Bowler Prescott could still make more than Jackson.
Last September, Prescott and the Cowboys agreed to a four-year, $240 million which is the highest average annual value ($60 million) in the league.
The Cowboys also restructured Prescott’s deal as his new contract carries the following salary cap hits: $52.9 million in 2025, $76 million in 2026, $70.8 million in 2027, $80,8 million in 2028, and $9.1 million in 2029 (void year).
Prescott would more than likely earn more than Jackson from 2026 to 2028, thanks to those cap hits.
However, the Cowboys could restructure those cap hits in the future.
Jackson could’ve won his third MVP award in 2024 after putting up arguably his best season, completing 66.7 percent of his passes for 4,172 yards with 41 touchdowns and four interceptions.
He rushed for 915 yards with four touchdowns.
But Buffalo Bills’ Josh Allen won his first career MVP and later penned a six-year, $250 million contract – the second biggest in NFL history, only behind Prescott.
Allen could earn $330 million up until 230 if he triggers all the bonuses in his deal
